Recent Work Experience

Professional Skills and Training

Databases & Digital Operations

Data is the core of a digital operation. Process and platform have an enormous impact on any office, and changing systems is disruptive. I’ve worked on many platforms and have never failed to become the office expert on a system. These are few of the database projects I’ve overseen:

  • Contacts migration from local and cloud servers to Constant Contact

  • Spreadsheet and physical record migration to DonorPerfect

  • Microsoft 365—>G-Suite migration (bi-directional experience)

  • SalesForce Data Quality Analysis, and data migration to ShalomCloud

Grants & Report Writing

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. One way or another, you need funding for that idea and effective budget management for programs and grantees of your own. This is when/how/where/why I worked with grants/admin. Below are some of my grant-related highlights.

  • Report to EU with CIMI - $3,200,000

  • Guyanese Diaspora Engagement Strategy

  • Nonprofit Security Grant Proposal (NSGP) - $200,000
(Federal+state anti-terrorism annual security grant program)

Communications and Strategy

Moving from journalism to nonprofits early in my career was an easy transition; my skills in a digital environment are scarce in the nonprofit sector and gave me opportunity to work widely on projects I frequently chose.

  • MailChimp & Constant Contact: Audiences in the thousands with two employers, and 1-2k with a third. Recurring communications, one-offs, customer journey, surveys, engagement reporting.

  • InDesign: Newspapers, magazines, newsletter, postcard, menu, flyer, pamphlet, business cards.

  • YouTube: Branding, process, schedule, host training, and content parameters to pivot in-person events to online during the pandemic.

  • Social Media Manager/Strategy: Multi-platform content and marketing strategy.

Creative Tools

I’ve always been a creator; as a child, digital tools provided me entertainment and some of my earliest jobs, but that hobby has grown to compliment my professional work rather than define it.

  • InDesign: Newspapers, magazines, newsletter, postcard, menu, flyer, pamphlet, business cards.

  • Adobe Premiere: When my office shifted from in-person to online content, we needed video editing and we needed it “yesterday.” With some experience from college, I was able to pick up and apply what we needed to mix and enhance audio; trim, cut and splice video; and keep the whole process oiled and ready to go.

  • Photoshop/Illustrator: What began with a desire to make fancy signatures and graphics for websites in my teenage years has evolved into a useful tool for branding and marketing in every position I’ve worked for more than a decade, creative staff or not.
